HEP: 2.5 hour sunk into document and trying to clean up expressions. Several more hours sunk in total.

UC: ~1.5 hours sunk into presentation notes and mirror system notes. The idea of applying a Neumann boundary and using a mirror is very interesting.

UHE: ~1 hr on Moriond…went poorly though, need another?

ST: ~ 2.5 hr in and some code is chugging along, we’ll see.

Exercise: ~1:15 climbing, ~15 weight lifting, ~1 hr dancing

CHECK YESTERDAY’S POST Woke up way later than intending, today is starting at noon. Good breakfast etc, but damn… 12:15pm-1pm -> Tan work, intro drafting. 1pm-3:30pm -> ST work…mess 3:30-4 -> Tan work 4-4:30-> Tan work but slow + coffee break 4:30-5 -> Tan work. Working on trying to make progress towards calculating something ;-; 5-6 -> UHE work…some serious progress in collecting a stupid quantity of sources :3 6-6:30-> WebDev + Bleed-over UHE work 6:30-8-> Palantirrrrr + Dinner  + back to webdev? Tan work simultaneously [~30 minutes?] 8-12 -> dance 12-2:30 getting home and eating a bigger dinner…ughhhhhhhh UCA: Almost have a good idea of what I’m doing for the introduction. . .I really need to do some physics tonight. I need to narrow down exactly how I plan to calculate things.  “The procedure is now standard”, apparently…see those references!!! Working through things, slowly… HEP: UHE: New ADSABS search tool is bananas. Example query: here I REALLY need to start going through the Moriond lectures to build an intuition for the physics case of UHE observations. Going to start looking at a realistic length for this paper. ST: MESS. Made some progress with figuring out what is breaking but it all basically comes down to needing to ask someone who knows what they’re doing way better than I do. I wish I could have written the code myself so that there was clear blame when it didn’t work. ST: Fixing ygraph / finding out how things fail/ second hour during colloquium, cool knots! Kelvin and vortex knots :3 DOLPHINS…energy from inductive analogy. Running GDB on a single core to see what breaks, will fix ygraph later this evening. Looking at papers in my ST collection: critical phenomena in collapse is an interesting topic, look into more later.

HEP: Two hours into rewriting the notes document. Lots of progress but I lost some time to dinner and sloppiness.

EFT approach I found takes the dimer-atom range as an input parameter, which is slightly problematic. Covered N-bosons in one dimension in class, mentioned N-bosons in 2D at the end.

UHE: http://moriond.in2p3.fr/J13/program.php This program is SO sexy ;-; ‘Will azume’ heh, cute calculation for x-rays and suitcases. Adding a half-hour more to sort through the program for Moriond. Got everything downloaded and almost all organized. Organized the rest of the week, though. Need to figure out going to Moriond next year, for sure.

Random: I need to play LoZ: Windwaker again. Also, all Bachata is the same song. Need to work on Integration Bee stuff.  Cool Like Carl notes need to be produced, too. Frozen dinner was okay ish

HEP: Renormalizable theories have at most 3- and 4- point vertices…is this universal? Feyn Arts to generate topologies, apply Feynman rules, paint diagrams… Algebraic simplification of Amplitudes is done by FormCalc… LoopTools can do the numerical evaluation. Downloading Mathematica to facilitate using these tools. Mathematica in and working. FeynArts in and somewhat useful, practice file under-way. ~2 hours in [bill as one for slowness?]

Tan:
Progress. Read over the NNLO (EFT) calculation for the process and have most of my references organized, I think.

From Yesterday:

UHEA: Start writing notes about coverage goals / check up on what is expected. ~ 2hrs committed today, will write up results of the day a bit later. Made latex doc, updated note/planning doc, took notes on a paper.

UCA: finish up with resource collection and think about actually calculating stuff.

HEP: start figuring out what’s wrong with fcnc code…putting this off for a bit.

ST: Run code. Check if it dies…check why?
