E&M – study for exam

Stat Mech – Quiz Friday.

QM – HW due Tuesday, do some more of this.
Soft Matter – Re-read paper tomorrow, study glasses, and study Witten…prepare presentation ;-;

Gravity – Catch up in general sadface.

Senior Seminar – Prep for talk.
Plasma Physics – Attend class and try not to sleep [look into old exams]

DO: Plan every god-darn day of April through the end of the conference.

Cloudy goals [keep in mind for Friday]:maybe take out cosmic rays?
abundances orion usually includes grains, but can’t change dust to gas easily.
tell no grains, then add them back
table 7.2 in Hazy part 1 has abundance data.
ISM grains…?
abundances ISM no grains
grains ISM graphite 9.0hden? maybe do this dynamically
for a given density and temperature call cloudy, integrate up get rosseland mean opacity.
check to see if removing iterate to converge changes timing.
Rosseland mean opacity v. temperature for different dust to gas ratios
^ start with this
1, 5, 10 for dust to gas ratio.
run ISM and not ISM for integrated.
Remove iterate to convergence and check timing.
need lots of opacity files

12:30-1:00 Stat Mech1 – done, notes on the text…went okay ish.
1:00-1:30 E&M1 – Done, notes on text some more…progress I think.
1:30-3:00 GR @.@ – super cool gravitational wave stuff today 😀
3:00-4:30 Plasma Physics – ehhh nope.

4:00-4:30 Stat Mech2 – done, was okay. Mostly finished up notes on the text.

4:30-5:00 E&M2 – done, that was unexciting…not sure it was my most productive.
5:00-5:30 Stat Mech3 – done, tried problems from the quals book…I don’t like them.

5:30-6:00 😦 over ran time and laze.
6:00-6:30 FCNC1 -really, really weird potential typo that didn’t change results? Function caled with huge numbers where small ones should’ve been .-.
6:30-7:00 E&M3 – some progress? I’m getting tired 😦 so it’s not going as well as it could…
7:00-7:30 Senior Seminar1 – Progresssss, but kinda slow?
7:30-8:00 QM1 – time ran over a bit and I felt kind of hungry :/ poo I guess…it wasn’t that important
8:00-8:30 Stat Mech4 – giving up a little at this point, I tried to skim over the big book of problems but a this point I’m just printing as many of the problems as I can and reading over them.

8:30-9:00 E&M4 – making study plan for weekend and reading. Went alright. I should really go over chapter 11 tomorrow…spent a lot of time on chapter 10.
9:00-9:30 FCNC2 -apparently the 10^10 GeV mass is just meant to give it something “very heavy” and it didn’t look like the calculation changed much for mass of top quark vs. cross section when I  ran it with a smaller number. So I guess I can ignore it. progress overall, I think. I’m close to getting the gamma one to work…but it’d be running on old pdfs ;-; need to update it.
9:30-10:00 Stat Mech4 -done ish. just done in general really…I think I’ll go home eat sleep etc. I can get to sleep 11:30 or I think?
