4/3/13

E&M – study for exam

Stat Mech – Quiz Friday.

QM – HW due Tuesday, do some more of this.
Soft Matter – Re-read paper tomorrow, study glasses, and study Witten…prepare presentation ;-;

Gravity – Catch up in general :( sadface.

Senior Seminar – Prep for talk.
Plasma Physics – Attend class and try not to sleep  [look into old exams]

DO: Plan every god-darn day of April through the end of the conference.

This is wonderful^

Plan for the day:

9:30-10:00 Soft Matter Presentation -was asleep
10:00-10:30 FCNC -was getting to school
11:00-12:00 E&M, attend class/review hw – mission accomplished, submit hw later this evening?
12:00-12:15 Get form signed – done.
12:30-1:00 Stat Mech – done
1:00-1:30 QM HW – done
1:30-2:00 FCNC  -done
2:00-2:30 Stat Mech -done
3:00-4:00 Cosmic Coffee – done
4:30-5:00 Senior Seminar – done
5:00-5:30 Stat Mech -done!
5:30-6:00 empty 😦 -done
6:00-7:00 Panel Discussion – done
7:00-7:30 Post-Panel? – done
7:30-8:00 Senior Seminar -oops
8:30-9:00 FCNC -oops
9:00-9:30 Stat Mech – oops
9:30-10:00 E&M -oooops
10:00-10:30 Stat Meeeech, problems in the text. Done.
10:30-11:00 E&M – problem 10.1 and 10.2…slow is progress? Done with this.
11:00-11:30 FCNC – got plots for gutZ NLO and have data for ratio vs. cross section in sm.
11:30-12:00 Stat Mech – making progress but getting a little tired of stat mech :((
12:00-12:30 ;-; pile up  running over => 16 minutes into it…taking a break for a bit then 12:30 startup.
12:30-1:00 E&M – progress >=P Yeaaaaaaaaaaah Make notes on keypoints later, organize problem by steps ><!
1:00-1:30 Senior Seminar – progress!!!!! lots of notes added, colors changed, slides split 😛
1:30-2:00 FCNC – whew. Plots? yeah. Got some. BOOM. Also, taking a slight break to stand and stuff, ya know? Since I can’t do anymore anyways…..
2:00-2:30 Stat Mech – that was a bit bleehhhh I’m starting to die/
2:30-3:00 Senior Seminar – ehhhhh I’m pretty much done with this.
Scoreboard for the day?

Thur-0.5
Fri-0.5

Cloudy goals [keep in mind for Friday]:maybe take out cosmic rays?
abundances orion usually includes grains, but can’t change dust to gas easily.
tell no grains, then add them back
table 7.2 in Hazy part 1 has abundance data.
ISM grains…?
abundances ISM no grains
grains ISM graphite 9.0hden? maybe do this dynamically
for a given density and temperature call cloudy, integrate up get rosseland mean opacity.
check to see if removing iterate to converge changes timing.
Rosseland mean opacity v. temperature for different dust to gas ratios
^ start with this
1, 5, 10 for dust to gas ratio.
run ISM and not ISM for integrated.
Remove iterate to convergence and check timing.
need lots of opacity files
…mess….
Predrag – “80% of GDP is quantum mechanics…”
;-; Panel Discussion so goooooood
…dinner and internet issues messed things up for several hours, woo?
Note to self: You are registered for lunch with Gingrey tomorrow!
Need to do: Schedule for Thursday, hahaha.
